“Beautiful day. Happy here.” -Milo

I had to write it down. Immediately. I never wanted to forget what he said as he experienced vacation life and the beauty of Kaanapali Beach. I had a picture of him in the moment, but the picture alone wasn’t enough to remember what his little voice, new to forming words, uttered in the early morning hours as he looked out at the ocean.

The only thing I had was my phone. And the notes app. For nine years, I have collected quotes, which fall anywhere between pure brilliance and laugh-til-I-cry hilarity.

I wanted a better place for his words to live. I wanted them in a book. I wanted to be able to have room to tell more about the context of the quote. I wanted Milo to be able to read it over, smile, and remember -like he does with photo books. I wanted others to be able to see it, too, if they cared to. And more than anything, I wanted a living document to be enjoyed for years to come.
